The Sign Making Industry offers excellent working conditions and progressive career opportunities with high levels of investment in new equipment and technology. Research continues into ways of designing, making and installing signs, evidence of which is all around us. In the United Kingdom there are over 22,000 people employed in sign making companies utilising a diverse mix of technical skills as part of the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of signs, supplied predominantly, but not exclusively, to the retail and service sectors.

What Is an Apprenticeship?
It is an important new opportunity for all young people irrespective of gender, race or disability entering the world of work. It is aimed at young people who prefer to follow a practical route to a successful career. The Sign Making Apprenticeship offers a structured programme of learning where the skills are assessed to NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3 and Key Skills Awards. It is aimed at young people aged 16 years or over who are able to complete the Apprenticeship programme prior to their 25th birthday and will provide the opportunity to work whilst attaining skills and qualifications.
